About Oishi Hibachi Steakhouse

Located at 2501 N Prospect Ave, Champaign, IL 61822, Oishi Hibachi Steakhouse operates as a pan-asian restaurant serving Champaign in Illinois. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.

Portion sizes and pricing swing widely across this group, from a $10 lunch bowl to a multi-course tasting menu at an upscale sushi counter, so checking recent reviews and photos is more useful than the price range alone. In Champaign, dinner reservations for popular izakaya, hot pot and Korean BBQ spots fill up on Friday and Saturday nights, so booking ahead or arriving at opening is worth it. Many restaurants across Illinois run daily lunch specials on weekdays that are not listed on the dinner menu, so it is worth asking. Halal, vegetarian and gluten-free options vary a lot by kitchen; call ahead if you have a dietary restriction rather than assuming the menu will note it.

Hours are published for 7 days a week. On most of those days it is open 11 am–9 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (217) 398-6888. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. Its website is oishichampaign.com, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.

Its Google rating is 4.2 out of 5 from 1,206 reviews, a solid but mixed picture; reading the most recent reviews will tell you what to expect.

Champaign is in Illinois, in the Midwest, where summers are warm, winters are cold and snowy, and most errands are done by car; businesses keep steady year-round hours with the usual holiday changes. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Champaign follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Very disappointed. Ordered combo meals to go. Steak was ordered medium and was well done. Shrimp was overcooked too. "Fried rice" was just white rice colored brown.

I went here for my birthday. They brought out a "Happy Birthday" fuzzy crown for me to wear. I didn't wear it, because I thought it was something that others wear. It turns out, that crown was just for me! As we were leaving, the waitress gave me the crown and told me to keep it, as it was just for me. On top of the birthday festivities, we enjoyed our food and our time there.

Celebrated a friend's birthday at this restaurant last weekend and we all had a wonderful time! The food was delicious, the Hibachi steak was melt-in-your-mouth tender, and the chefs were so much fun! Can't wait to go back soon!

For dishes that are so simple (just heating food over the grill), it takes way too long to be served. Maybe because we look young and they want to prioritize families? It took us 30 minutes to receive food. Despite us sitting and ordering first, before other tables. Servers standing around and just watching their own Hibachi performances. We only received our food after staring at the staff. One chef squatting in the kitchen playing on his phone. Though there's a reason why most don't eat at hibachi places. Usually a cash-grab for a mediocre meal Soup that comes with the combo -- mushrooms are paper thin (not even kidding...) in salty water. House salad is somehow also watery. Veggies are tiny or burnt. Even steak bits come out over cooked. The sad mayo-sauce used for sushi is served with your platter. It sort of helps out, but it's also mysteriously watery. I suppose their budget is tight.

Plentiful food, two of us got the hibachi meal which we β€œcustomized β€œ since I do not eat shrimp - it comes with 2 - and I wanted noodles and not rice (an up charge of $2.95) and m friend had no mushrooms as he is allergic. The amount of veg was vastly different, shame since it’s one of the best parts as far as I am concerned and mine were not very plentiful. The food was not very hot either, probably better to get the β€œgrill in front of you” option if you want it hot. The service was sketchy. The soup and salad came fast, the food not long after. Asked for chopsticks which we waited quite a while for, and we never saw another staff member until we stopped a waiter passing by and asked for a take out box and the check.
